How do you chose the best web page layout for your website? What looks best and how do you know this?

I've played around with mine over time. Having someone review your site also helps point out weak points that might need changed in the template.

Yeah I can see how someone looking at your site would help because then you would have someone else's opinion rather than your own. Sometimes it is easy to look at your site and not see it objectively.

I have my blog that had all the blogger templates but I made loads of changes and now it seems different. I think just try various options and I'm sure something would be looking great or excellent to go for.

Thanks I really appreciate the advise it is difficult doing web design. I am not used to it. I think it is a bit like decorating a wall it takes time and practise and you have to know what looks good.
