Is there anyone on this forum that is an active Stumbleupon or Digg user? If so I am looking for friends that share my interests on these networks.

Eh, I have accounts, but I don't really use them. Stumble is great for short term traffic, but unless you spend tons of time on there, it's really not worth the effort in my opinion. The stumblers don't usually turn into regulars for me, and that's what I prefer, but it works for some people.

I have heard that Stumbleupon is very good for things like channel surfing the internet and finding decent websites with videos and photos. I like the idea of how it learns what you like so it is totally personalised to your preferences.  It has a good user interactivity that allows you to rate others web pages.  I reckon this could be really useful when trying to drive traffic to your website.

I have found that Stumbleupon can drive a good amount of traffic to your website. I've seen as many as 200 to 1000 visitors from stumbleupon in a single day. The hope is that if you have a great website, with good content, products or services, that you might be able to start a buzz on blogs and forums.

You do have to create a decent network of friends to help give your stumbles some traction though.

I found out about Stumbleupon through a site which pays to Digg or stumble some sites. I never used up Stumbleupon till date but Digg was helpful to some extent to drive in certain desired traffic. I do have account in Digg that I use but not that often except when I get some stuff paid to read.

I once marked a blog I liked on stumbleupon and the blogger wrote me back and said that he had more than triple the people started coming in from stumbleupon than he had already coming in from elsewhere.

I never use Stumbleupon but am actively participating on Digg.  The traffic that they are giving is genuine and really does convert to my readers. Right now, I have more than 300 friends on my list.

I thought that digg did not allow you to "digg" your own work. I also heard that if you have a lot of friends and that they digg your site you get nailed for "puppettering" at least that is what I heard.

You are allowed to dig your own work and let your friends dig it.  I also know that you can post a shout on a total of 200 friends on your list.  So having more than that, doesn’t really put up to your advantage.

Digg is very tough because if you don't receive a lot of diggs within the first few days, you can pretty much forget about making the front page, or anywhere close.

StumbleUpon helped my websites so much when I used it.

I haven’t been able to reach the front page either but my friends are becoming regular readers.  I think that it is worth it because it is just free anyway.
