gaining links by offering RSS or Atom on your site is peace of cake but needs a unique and quality content to be presented on the site for users to publish that content using your feeds.

It won't do any good if your content is not related to what ever the niche your site focus or if you are using duplicate or spam content over it.

Spam sites are less than worthless.  You're much better off building up repeat traffic - so many of my hits come from word of mouth, repeat traffic, people recommending my site in forum posts... it's unreal.

I would think that one-hundred dependable readers--that's what hits are, at least hopefully--would outstrip five hundred or even a thousand hits from disinterested people who didn't expect to stumble across your content in the first place.

blogs are the best way for people to get back more often then any static article pages because people can post their comments and readers may visit the same page time to time for the purpose of reading comments.

Has anyone tired making "Blidgets" through Widgetbox?  I have made a couple that I spread among my blogs, to show latest articles I have written and newsy items about products.

Has anyone here tired Widgets?

I see widgets in some blog sites that I have visited. I think it is a good way to update people of new posts in your blog.

Okay, what is a widget?  Last time I heard that word was in my economics class and it was used as a fictitious product.  Can somebody please explain what it is?

Roguegal, the only experience I have of widgets is with Wordpress. They add functionality to your blog by putting extras in it like incoming rss feeds. They're just another way of jazzing up your content and adding interest.

Yeah I have used some widgets but, I am not sure if they are the same thing you are talking about.  The ones I have used are graphics and attachments you can add to your website to spice it up a bit.

SageMother, can you share a bit more information on Blidgets and Widgetbox please? Are these more or less the same kind of widgets that are available for WordPress or something different?

Thanks for any clarification.

I have to agree. You really do need to have decent content or no one will want to stick around.
