which is better? the one with the triple w's infront? or the one without?
personally, i prefer using domain.com than www.domain.com.
because it's shorter, it's cuter. lol.
although my domain.com and my www.domain.com both have the same PR, their number of backlinks differ.
so before i make a redirection page from one domain to another, which for you would be better -- domain.com or www.domain.com?

I somehow seem to prefer www.domain.com. Just domain.com looks incomplete & unprofessional to me. But everyone has their preferences, so it doesnt matter much, I guess.

I think including the "www" looks much more professional.  Omitting it does seem cute to many and might be appropriate with personal sites.  It can have a negative impact for business oriented sites where trust is essential.

aw. i prefer the opposite. i like it without the triple w dots. coz it's cute. hehe.
although, yeah, most professional sites i see use it with www's. hmmm.
my site's so-called SEO score has already reached a nice rating without the triple w dots.
so i guess i'd just have to stick without the triple w dots now.

From an SEO perspective, it shouldn't matter, but I prefer something between the http:// and the domain from a user perspective.  Otherwise, people will be frustrated when they recall your domain and automatically add it.

I prefer domain.com rather than www.domain.com, because it seems to be easy and short to use. But, I do agree with all who said that it looks more unprofessional.

I prefere it without the triple w, especially when you know what the "www." is for and how pointless it actually is to place it in the URL! We were also told at college, although for the life of me I can't remember why, that having the triple W affected your SEO negatively. I'll have to try and dig up the reason.

I would like to hear why it would be negative not to have the triple W. It doesn't seem like it makes much difference nowadays.

I can't find the notes anywhere, but basically websites are stored on a server (as i'm sure we all know) and each server has an IP address. This is what is used to access the website, the domain name (whatever.com) simply sends the user to that IP address.

The WWW. is the name of the server the website is stored on. It's like the name of a house. You don't need to put it in the address when sending the letter. If you know what I meant.
