Since a blog is text rich it might not need nearly the attention that a commercial website does.  Is this true? So I think that a commercial site needs more attention than a blog. It doesn't need as much attention as a website is going to need because it won't have the pictures and flash content etc that a website is going to have. Posted:  27 May 2008 13:44 Registered User Currently Offline Posts:  175 Join Date: Apr 2008 I didn't know that blogs were crawled by search engines on a daily basis.  You learn something new everyday.  I agree with what you say about chosing a niche of your liking and not because it is popular.  You have to feel passionate about what you are writing about otherwise you will give up at the first hurdle.  If you are passionate about what you are writing about then it will drive more traffic to your website because people want to read what is interesting to them. Text is much more important on a blog site than it is on a website because that is why you are getting traffic to your blog site because people want to read your thoughts and opinions about a certain subject.  They want to know how you feel about something and if you chose something that you are not passionate about then you won't get people reading your blog and they will get bored and go somewhere else.
